How to Turn One Design Into Shirts, Stickers, Decals and More

A design that looks good on a screen still needs to work on a shirt, sticker, mug, sign, or decal. Start with one clear focal point, keep tiny details out of the first version, and build a few product-ready versions instead of stretching one file everywhere.

Build the master design

Use a high-resolution canvas, readable type, strong contrast, and enough empty space around the artwork. Keep a layered source file so wording, colours, and backgrounds can be changed without starting over.

Make product versions

Create a full-colour version, a one-colour version for decals and stencils, a transparent-background version for print, and a simplified version for small stickers. Check each mockup at the actual product size before listing it.

Use the same idea across your shop

Group matching items into a small collection. A customer who likes a shirt design should be able to find the sticker, mug, sign, or downloadable decal without searching again.
